Problem
DevSkill has done extensive backend work. Managing instructor registration, student registration, running code contest, and many more. However, things were a little bit scattered. Thus the conversion rate was low. When you land on the homepage, you might find out about the contest, but will not have any clue about the upcoming courses.
So the question is:
"How might we improve the information architecture to ensure a smooth and engaging experience for students who want to join in DevSkill activities (course, contest, etc.)?"
Solution
Surveyed among the Facebook DevSkill group members to understand what matters to them, how they judge a course, etc. Based on the responses, took some initiatives:
-
Organize public contents and navigation (Information Architecture)
-
A portal for DevSkill members (students, instructors)
-
A dedicated landing page for for instructors
-
Review the entire registration flow of a student member and an instructor and guide them in each step to understand what would be possible next steps
